Co-founder of Smash Your Exams Education & Computer Science Expert Paul is an experienced teacher, leader, and national trainer with over 20 years working in education. He has taught and supported students at every level, from KS3 right through to A Level and has trained teachers and departments nationwide in how to deliver Computer Science effectively. As a Director of Smash Your Exams, Paul combines decades of classroom experience with a deep technical understanding of Computer Science, specialising in Python programming, cybersecurity, and networking. His tutoring is practical, reassuring, and expertly delivered, drawing on both industry-level knowledge and years of helping students succeed. Alongside tutoring, Paul leads national partnerships across over 25 schools as part of a Department for Education programme, providing CPD and strategic guidance to Computer Science teachers across the country. He has also worked with the National Centre for Computing Education (NCCE) and Isaac Computer Science, advising the Department for Education on GCSE and A Level content and ensuring resources meet the highest standards. Prior to this, Paul was Head of Computer Science at a large secondary school in the North East for over a decade, helping transform results and building a strong, confident team of teachers. He also played a key role in shaping the school’s digital strategy, training staff on Google Workspace, leading device rollouts, and ensuring cybersecurity measures supported high-quality teaching. At Smash Your Exams, Paul combines his love of teaching with his expertise in digital education. He creates high-quality resources, delivers engaging tutoring sessions, and provides consultancy to schools looking to improve their Computer Science offer. Outside of education, Paul is passionate about technology, travel, and video production. He's a skilled video editor and developer, and he uses these talents to bring learning to life for students. He lives in the North East with his family, and when he’s not teaching, you’ll likely find him behind a camera, exploring the outdoors, or tinkering with his next tech project.

Lewis is an experienced Secondary English teacher who currently works in a private international school in Marbella, Spain, having previously taught in a large state school in the UK. He is Head of Key Stage 4 and Pastoral Lead, a role centred on building positive relationships with students while supporting them to make excellent progress through the challenging GCSE curriculum. Lewis brings timed, skills-based writing lessons, consistent teacher modelling, impactful feedback informed by exam mark schemes, and teacher-led examples for every exam question.

Co-founder of Smash Your Exams Education James is a highly experienced teacher, tutor, and educational leader with over 17 years of experience in the classroom and beyond. He has taught Computer Science and ICT at Key Stage 3, GCSE, and A Level in schools across the North East, where he held leadership roles including Head of Department and Key Stage Coordinator. Under his leadership, student outcomes consistently ranked in the top 4% nationally. As the Subject Lead for Computer Science at Save My Exams, James leads a team of expert teachers and education professionals to produce revision resources used by over 2 million students worldwide every month. His work ensures that students, parents, and teachers alike can rely on high-quality, exam-focused content to support learning and boost results. James is also the co-founder and director of Smash Your Exams, where he continues to tutor students directly and support schools through consultancy. His mission is simple: to make Computer Science engaging, accessible, and successful for all learners. He is especially passionate about topics like binary logic, hexadecimal, and networking hardware—always encouraging students to think critically and decode exam questions clearly. One of his top revision reminders is: “RTQ: Read The Question. It's not just about knowing the material, but understanding what is being asked of you.” James has also led digital strategy in schools, playing a key role in implementing 1:1 device programmes and embedding Google Workspace tools to support remote and blended learning. He helped transform the school’s virtual learning environment, ensuring it worked for both teachers and students.
