What happens in a lesson

  1. 1

    Join from home

We email the video link before each lesson. Your child joins James Woodhouse and no more than 6 students.

  2. 2

    Teaching, then practice

60 minutes on one topic: taught first, then practice questions with James Woodhouse watching the work.

  3. 3

    Questions welcome

A group this size means your child can ask, and hears the questions the others ask too. That is the part a recording cannot give them.

  4. 4

    You hear how it went

The tutor marks the lesson complete and you can see it on your parent dashboard, along with everything coming up.

You would be the first to join this class

  • Booking secures your child's place straight away, and it is held for them.
  • Lessons begin once a second student joins, which may well be before the first lesson date shown.
  • We will email you the moment it reaches 2 people, and confirm the start date.

You are not charged for a lesson that does not happen, and if you change your mind, that is absolutely fine. Just tell us.

Booking asks you to create a parent account and pay securely via Stripe. Enquiring does neither.

Frequently asked questions

How many children are in the group?
This group is capped at 6. Small enough that James can hear from every child, check their work as they go, and pick up quickly when someone has not understood something.
Can we try it before committing?
Yes. You can book a single trial lesson at the usual £29 rather than committing to a term, and decide afterwards.
Which lesson is the trial?
The group's next lesson, on Tue 8 September. You do not pick a date: the trial is simply the next session, so your child joins the group as it actually runs rather than sitting a one-off on their own.
Who teaches it?
Click 's name to see their qualifications, the subjects and exam boards they cover, their per-level rates and any reviews from other parents.
How and when am I billed?
£29 per lesson, billed monthly for the lessons falling in that month, never a whole term up front. Payment is taken securely through Stripe and you get an invoice each time.
What does my child need?
A device with a camera and microphone, and somewhere quiet to sit. We email the joining link before each lesson.
What is the minimum number of students?
2. Until a second child joins, the class cannot go ahead. Your child's place is held, nothing is charged for a lesson that does not happen, and we will email you the moment it reaches 2 people. If you change your mind in the meantime, that is absolutely fine.
What if my child misses a week?
Tell us as early as you can and we will let James know. We will pass on the slides and any work from that lesson so your child can catch up. Group lessons are not refunded for a missed week: your payment secures your child's place in the class, which is held for them whether they are there or not.
What if we want to stop?
You are not locked into a contract. Let us know and we will take your child off the group from the following month onwards.
